William “Bill” Taylor funeral set for Feb. 24

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of William “Bill” Taylor, a long-time member of our church, on Feb. 14 in Norfolk, Va. He was 94.

A 1947 graduate of Martinsburg High School, Bill went on to have an over 40-year career with the B&O Railroad. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Betty Lee Taylor, for more than 60 years before she preceded him in death. They have one daughter, Cathy L. Miller (Scott), three granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.

An avid hunter, he was a founding member of the Equal Rod and Gun Club and a longtime member of the Creek Hill Hunting Club.

Although Bill moved to Virginia Beach several years ago, he stayed in touch with congregation members and enjoyed keeping up with things through our newsletter. He was a member of Christ Reformed for more than 75 years.

The funeral service will be held at Christ Reformed United Church of Christ on Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. There will be a visitation at Brown Funeral Home on Feb. 23 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
