Sunday sermon, Feb. 21, 2021

On this first Sunday of Lent, we enter a time of introspection as we approach Easter. Today’s scripture is from the book of Luke, chapter 4, which tells of Jesus spending 40 days in the wilderness and being tempted by Satan. The pandemic has already forced us to give up so much, Pastor Tom Hartshorn tells us in this sermon. Instead of giving up something more this Lenten season, he suggests we work to discover what God intends us to do or be. We should become familiar with our demons, he says, so they can’t lure us away from God’s purpose.
