Members share talents at Dec. 24 family worship service
The Christmas Eve day family worship service featured members of our congregation and their families sharing their talents to celebrate the Christmas season.
Caren Forestandi, dressed as Mary with the baby Jesus, read selections from a book that presented what Mary and Joseph may have been thinking and feeling on that night long ago in Bethlehem. The book was “One Incredible Moment” by Max Lucado, an author whose books have been featured in Lunch Bunch Bible study.
Next up, the Hartshorn family sang and played various Christmas songs, including the Grinch theme. Tom played piano, accompanied by his daughter Holly on flute and saxophone and his son Joel on trumpet. Two granddaughters also sang.
The sanctuary was decked out with dozens of poinsettias. It was a joyful morning and a fitting way to welcome Christmas. It was followed that evening by the traditional 11 p.m. candlelight Christmas Eve service.
Thanks to all who participated, who ordered poinsettias and who decorated the church so beautifully.
