Congregation honors its children with Children’s Sabbath ceremony

The church observed the National Children’s Sabbath, an event begun by the Children’s Defense Fund, by holding a candle-lighting ceremony to honor children during the regular service on Oct. 20. Congregation members were invited to name children to be remembered with a candle — either their own children, those in their families or children around the world. Parents and caregivers were also honored.

After the Children’s Sabbath service, the altar was aglow with many candles honoring children in our church family and around the world.
